Morpheus - Name the Prototype DJ Bike Contest Winner

bigquotesAfter considering the feedback from Pinkbike members and several fights here in the Morpheus office, we have finally settled on the name ''Vimana''. It was a battle to choose a winner, with the final two names left on the table being Phenom and Vimana. In the end we decided to go with a name that is as unique as the company and bike that we have created. We want to thank all of the Pinkbike members for working so diligently to help us come up with perfect name. We congratulate Reza Syahzan, Cyphereza, and we will be shipping the frame out to our lucky winner in Malaysia around February, 2012. - Morpheus Cycles

Vimana, a flying mythological machine said to have existed over 6000 years ago that is also said to have been created from a lost technology more complex and advanced than anything known today. Congratulations to Reza Syahzan, aka Cyphereza, from both Pinkbike and Morpheus Cycles. Enjoy your new Vimana!

 Vee-ma-na, is the correct pronunciation of the traditional word, Morpheus can pronounce it how they want, it's moderately offensive that they've turned the word into a product so they may as well bastardize it further...

 It is a unique name that actually has some meaning behind it. If someone asks you what it means you can actually give them a cool answer, or tell them to shut up and ride.

 I like the name. Whether it be the name or the bike, it is quite intriguing and certainly a conversation starter. It is nice to see someone from Malaysia won however, it is too bad that Morpheus Cycles' website does not support international phone numbers when phone numbers are required by them in order to send them e-mails through their webpage. Shortsighted or just Oops?

I agree with others to be honest though. I get the meaning thing but doesn't have much zing to it. Can't wait to hear commentators try to pronounce it. Good thing I already have a sweet bike to ride.

 Sweet name, congrats on the bike. It sucks for u that u dont get it till 2012. Oh well at least u hav time to get mean parts for ur new mean frame. Dont know about those drop outs though. . . Look like they would snap off going off a 3 foot drop.
